How to clean upholstery with a steam cleaner

Steam cleaners are cleaning tools that are capable of saving you a good amount of your time and energy while eradicating dirt from upholstery or fabric furniture. The fume created by the steam cleaner not just draws out any stains of oil and dirt but also eliminates allergens and killing bacteria that cause disease by properly cleaning up the surface.

The high-temperature steam does some amazing work in extracting and dissolving dirt from the fragile upholstery without using any harsh solutions. By following the proper strategies, you can steam clean your fabric furniture yourself.

The total cycle of cleaning the upholstery by a steam cleaner consists of the following steps:

  1. Vacuum the Upholstery

Set up your upholstery by eliminating free dirt using the steam cleaner. For this, vacuum the upholstery properly using the brush connection.

If the furniture has pillows, remove them, and clean with your vacuum cleaner. Append the crevice nozzle to eliminate dirt particles from holes at sides. Remember to vacuum the back side of the upholstery.

  1. Treat the Stains

For stains that are intense on the upholstery, you can treat them with either homemade DIY cleaner or readymade upholstery cleaner.

Apply the cleaner on the stain and leave it for 5-10 minutes so it can relax the stain. Then smudge the surface with a soft microfiber material this will eliminate the stain easily.

  1. Prepare your Steam Cleaner

Start by removing the evaporator cap of your steam cleaner. Fill water in the evaporator and change the cap. Then connect the hose which has the steam weapon and remember to actuate the security lock. Presently plug the cleaner into the attachment and let the steam cleaner heat up.

Adhere to the guidelines cautiously for better results. Be certain you don’t fill the evaporator with excessive water which can get soaked by your fabric, which will over soak the stains. It can be a spinning brush or a fixed brush as per the connection of the brush. If upholstery has pillows, then begin cleaning them first.

  1. Steam Clean the Upholstery

Grab the handle of the steam cleaner or the connection and splash the surface with the steam. Press the catch that delivers the steam onto the surface.

Tenderly wipe your upholstery with the brush appended to the steam cleaner and reactivate the security lock. The whole cycle will wet the fabric when the steam hits it. Directly drag the nozzle over the area to evaporate all the water that might have been absorbed in the fabric drying the surface completely. Harsh stains from the outside of the fabric will also be cleaned by this. Focus on a little section at a time to remove dirt.

  1. Vacuum it Again

When the upholstery is dry completely, vacuum again. This will help you clean up the dirt that is still not cleaned by the brush or cloth.

You can follow every one of these means cautiously and bring back the lost sparkle of your upholstery without using chemicals that are harmful.
